“WARM AT HOME” IN SICILY



“WARM AT HOME”   IN SICILY

The European Project “WARM AT HOME” in the framework of the LIFELONG LEARNING PROGRAMME (LLP) of the EU Commission was disseminated during the 1st meeting, hosted in Sicily, S. Teresa di Riva, from  20th to 27th  October 2013.
The Istituto Comprensivo of S. Teresa di Riva, in partnership with other five European countries (Poland, Spain, Hungary, Bulgaria and Turkey) presented the European Comenius Project “Warm at Home” at the Val d’Agrò Theatre on 22nd October.
Local authorities were present at the important event,  the  School Principal, Mrs Enza Interdonato, the previous  School Principal, Mrs Rosa Crupi, the mayors of S. Teresa di Riva, S. Alessio, Savoca and Antillo, the President of the Literary Park “Salvatore Quasimodo”, Mr Carlo Mastroieni, as well as teachers, families and students.
The Project “WARM AT HOME “ was presented to the crowdy audience and Mrs Morabito, teacher of English, explained the essential contents of the project based on Environmental Education (global warming, alternative sources of energy solar, photovoltaic, wind and thermal recycling, greenhouse effect) as well as "Warm" considered as family relationships in the past and in the present.
During the event  the European  and the various national anthems were played  by the school orchestra.
