Exhibition of Miniature Houses in Vasil Levski Secondary School, Ruse, Bulgaria.

Students hold a charity exhibition of miniature houses and castles

A charity exhibition was opened yesterday in the foyer of Vasil Levski Secondary School in Ruse. The exhibits were made by the students from the fifth grades entirely from materials like wood, confectionery, match sticks, paper, etc. The students have predominantly constructed houses and castles. The initiative is a part of an international project called "Warm at Home", in which 6 countries are participating.
The interesting houses, as the vice principal of the school - Mrs Stefka Mangova explained, have been under construction since the beginning of the school year in the arts and crafts classes. Even the parents of the students helped in the making of some of the more attractive exhibits. Every miniature house has a price which includes labour and the materials used. Some of them, however, are not for sale. The rest have a price written on them. All the money that has been raised in this sale will go to the student parliament. They on their part will distribute it among the students from socially disadvantaged families that are studying in the school. A small amount will be dedicated for prize money. A reporter of the Bryag newspaper noticed some very interesting houses. One of them was made entirely from wafers and ice cream funnels and another one - from grill skewers. Some houses even had interior furnishing and lightning. They will be on sale between the 15th and the 18th of December in the upcoming Christmas bazaar in the school.
