Dissemination of the Project in Bulgarian Media

Warm at Home sends students and teachers from "Vasil Levski" Secondary School to Hungary

"Vasil Levski" Secondary School in Ruse is preparing for their participation in the third project meeting within the "Warm at Home" LLP Comenius project. In the period between 22th and 29th March, 7 teachers and 2 students are going to visit Hungary, where partners from the participant countries are going to present the next tasks on the topic of the project.
In Hungary the school will present the way Bulgarians celebrate Easter. Two children from the 8th and the 12th grade will present customs connected with painting eggs and the celebration itself. The students are preparing traditional costumes, with which they will present Bulgaria. In their optional art classes, students study iconography, they draw icons and they study the traditions and customs of Bulgarians. In their home economics classes they recycle rubbish material. The whole preparation of all 60 children from 1st to 12th grade is aimed at the warmth within the relationship between people in a family and outside it, including traditions, celebrations and customs. A part of the topic of the project is the protection of the environment and the use of alternative power and heating sources - wind, solar power, bio-energy; as well as getting to know the means of producing such energy.
The first part of the project was carried out in October last year in Sicily, Italy. The second meeting (mobility) was in Poland, where a group of teachers and students from Bulgaria, together with their partners from Turkey, Italy, Hungary and Spain visited their Polish partners in the city of Lodz. In reference to the topic of the project, the teams visited a thermal power plant and a salt mine in Lodz, as well as a museum of technologies in Warsaw.
The Bulgarian students took part in making a puzzle with different power sources, they took part in a photo competition with the topic "The Warmth Within the Home". The winner in this competition is Kiril Ivanov, a student from the 12th grade in "Vasil Levski" Secondary School. His coulage of photos presents the warmth and cosiness in the family, between friends, between animals in the nature. This was shared by Georgi Ivanov - vice principal in the school and coordinator of the project for Bulgaria.
Interesting is the fact that the student council in the school chooses the 8 students who will present the school in the Bulgarian delegation and for each country they change and take turns.
There are six project meetings planned within the project. After Hungary, in the autumn of 2014, Bulgaria will be a hosting country. In February 2015 the participants will visit Spain and in the autumn of 2015 will take place the concluding stage of the project in Turkey.
